i have no idea how these
came into our garden.
neither my sister nor myself
have memory
(no! we're not that old or dottie)
of ever having planted
these tulips.
certainly not in this spot.
nor in the other place where they are flowering.
she plays such curious games
in the garden does mother earth.
often times i feel it's a wrestling match
with the weeds she tosses about
with such abandon and
i swear!...glee.
and then she goes and
gives us something like this
out of the blue
Post Script,the next morning
The best guess i've come up with
while pondering this again in bed last night
is that these tulips traveled into our garden via
soil from some purchased plant
or gifted plant from a nursery that
did not screen recycled potting soil well
