Words have been eluding me.
However, i've been busy, collecting images
And, it finally ocurred to me, when Marly very kindly noted that i've been gone too long
that i can simply post photos.
So, if that's all i can do
i've been reminded that it's a good thing to do.
So then, of course, i find i need to say a few things...
but i cannot believe how challenging this is.
Maybe i should follow your advice, Marly...and start fresh, with a new blog.
can't believe how i let emotions cling to and influence absolutely everything.
Anyway...
When September arrived, and the heat broke and the rains returned to quench the horrendous drought that was our summer, leaves began falling, prematurely. Some trees lost more than half of their foliage back in July, as they coped with the drought.
Hearts sank. It seemed certain that we would not enjoy our famous, glorious autumn colors.
It was strange. So many bare limbs in September amidst trees still green.
When color finally did appear, it was not in the same sequence we've come to expect. And all the talk was "Well, we aren't going to have a good fall this year..."
But they were wrong.
It just came later.
It has been a glorious
if curious
season.
And, so, i will begin to post a few testaments
beginning with the grasses. And some of those green leaves that hung around in early October.
Not to worry, there's nothing wrong with your eyes, or my camera. i've simply taken liberties with some of the ones below. have been experimenting...sort of painting with pixels. If these bug your eyes, please come back tomorrow when i will post a few more "normal" shots. However, you have been warned that i've let go of my former need for sharpness.
i've experimented with non-traditional photos before (and here) but this is obviously not as dramatic.
i'm sure that it is not as big a deal to you as it is to me that i've been able to give myself over to this "soft focus" stuff. It is most liberating and fun. So, thank you in advance for you indulgence.
It feels good to be back at this.
Thanks for visiting. Please come back again.
