the morning light is soft
moist.
July's buds and blooms glow.
The sun at noon
feels firey on the skin
and in the veins
and one grows
woozy
Even the insects seek shade.
the trees cast long, soothing shadows
where the grass leaps up
celebrating the rains that finally came
