they are one of my all time favorites
and there are loads of new blooms every morning.
The only morning glory disappointment of this year is
that the guy i've depended upon for spring surprises
the one who grew half a dozen different colors and varieties each year
sold his nursery last winter without warning!
i did not learn of his decision until i went shopping in May
when it was too late to sow my own seeds.
That's what i get for not buying a poinsettia from him last December.
If i had, i'm sure he would have alerted me.
So, i will order an assortment of glory seeds this fall
but i will miss the ritual of wondering what he has sown
and what i'll find on his benches next spring.
The folks who now own the nursery will
no doubt
offer up their own surprises and delights
nonetheless
i'm feeling wistful
as yet another long-time acquaintance packs up
and moves far, far away.
One of my favorites too -- love it!

Argh!
New adventures for him - - and certainly seeing what the new owners have will lead to new adventures, new yield different beauties and personalities ...
As someone who has recently moved far, far away (sort of), I know the difficulty on the other end, finding new places to put down roots, settling in. I'm wistful, too, missing some of my very familiar, long-time routines. But the move was for good, and I try to keep my eyes open for the little chance meetings that could grow into soothing routines ...
Gardeners, by the very nature of their craft, are very optimistic, very patient, have a good deal of faith. So here's to armfuls of new blossoms and crops, all beautiful.

Beautiful image. I think deep in my archives I have pics of our MG. Unfortunately they are considered a weed in Western Australia,so every year I rip it out. But then every year it comes back, twinning through the hedge ( thankfully!).

People come and go through our lives. I too have just had someone leave my sphere of aquaintences because it was time for him to move on to new things in his life. It's the ebb and flow thing, you know. Who knows what the new people at the garden centre have to offer you? Their own perspective on your mutual passion, if nothing else! :o) I love the blue of the morning glory. There isn't a blue quite like it anywhere else.

Mireille, there is no apology necessary for your English...and you have expressed it perfectly: "a blue symphony"...thank you so much.
Thank you, all of you, for stopping by and commenting on the flowers, and the transition.
