My mother has a bear who tears through her land as well. And she is on top of a mountain in a small town... And we've had bear in town in Cooperstown as well, and a rabid fox that went flying about, biting as he went.

Yes, I don't like that attitude. It has destroyed many of my very favorite places and bulldozed a number of mountains I was glad to know.

Really interesting, I can't imagine a bear in the garden!
Our hunters are just starting up. I hate them for their arrogance and ignorance, though rationally I accept that we sometimes have to intervene with nature, but that's not why they do it. Also that it's not hunting that really usually destroys wildlife but the destruction of habitat.
