i'm ready to escape from this heat
sail away...or paddle
to someplace where the air
is more welcoming
and clouds fill the skies on
a regular basis
blessing the earth
refreshing all living things.
without question
august is my least favorite month.
i used to think it was february
but at least in the winter you can
dream of lovely things flourishing.
most august months find me
fretting and beseeching the skies
for more clouds more rain please
and lugging watering cans and
hose pipes
i do not want to wish the summer
away
just this heat
this blasted blazing
good for nothing heat
Hmmm ... know what you mean - at least during the cooler months you can put more on - there's a decency limit to what you can leave off and still go about your business when it is SO hot :) Thankfully even hot is pretty temperate here (UK) - I just can't cope with dark and grey February skies.
The blue boat is such a pretty shape.

Oooh, blue colour themes {:^)
I wonder if you've seen the film "Three Colours Blue", starring Juliette Binoche, directed by Krzysztof Kieslowski? The cinematography by Slawomir Idziak is stunning.
Cheers,

thank you, Elaine and Peter!
sorry i didn't get back to respond for
a couple of days
i'm a freelancer and was under the gun
on a couple of deadlines.
i'm a UK wannabe, without question, elaine!
but i also love this struggling, beat up (this year) garden.
and, no...my garden fence is not private enough
to allow for stripping down in august...and i'm afraid
my mature physique would horrify the twenty-somethings
that live next door and share the same driveway!
i totally agree re february skies...check back with
me in feb and i'm sure i'll be moaning
again.
thanks for the movie tip, Peter. i'd not heard of it
i just put it in my netflix queue and can't wait to check it out.
