this photograph of young oak leaves
was taken a bit earlier in the season
but oaks leaves are some of the latest
to appear and stay new-spring-yellow-green
for quite a long while.
oh! just remembered one of my favorite
poems, by Lilian Moore:
Ducklings,
look around.
That's treegreen
filling the sky
and there's grassgreen
running
up the hill,
steeply.
The shadowgreen is
pine woods,
dark
old.
The yellowgreen is
young leaf
unfolding,
new
as you.
Breathe green
deeply.
