If i ignore it, will it go away?

i am usually very adept at avoiding reality when it suits.
However
there are situations and conditions the pull me up short
You, faithful reader friend already know what i'm about to say:

it's hot
Horribly so
and that's them saying it, not just me.

 i hate it hateithateithateit!!!
and it's supposed to be like this for 2 weeks

OKOKOK...
b.r.e.a.t.h.e......

i'm trying some self-hypnosis, can you tell?
and delving into the photo archives
in my attempt to avoid what it's doing out there.

Ah, yes
These were flowering in a gentle rain a week ago
(held the camera under my rain jacket)



the memories of that afternoon are flooding my senses

Wrong move: just glanced up and noticed the thermometer

gladioli and catmint
just outside the window

March 26th

Ah!...the sweet scent held
in these tender petals
i always think i remember it
but each time
it's new all over again.

A local decided to see if she could grow sweet peas
for the big city flower market...and her neighbors
oh how happy we be!!




 

October 12th

a dewy dahlia splashing about

the butterflies are so busy getting their fill
they almost ignore me completely.

the Meadow Fritillary dines with its wings spread wide

the American Lady, on the other hand, stands with
the undersides of her wings in plain view...with their
dramatic markings which are meant to look like large eyes
in order to confuse the birds
and make them think twice before nibbling

July 8th

It is the height of the coneflower season
with all stages of the flowers on display

June 30th

the garden has been an especially comforting
and delightful place to be lately
and it seems that all life forms agree...
like this dancing coneflower

June 17th

another small lily just opening
it will soon become a tight little Turk's turban, too.

this one, Cerneum, likes the sun
but also the company of other plants
baking bare soil, no.
This one has daisies to the left, feverfew to the right
and a lovely young maple tree not far away.

Mrs. R. O. Backhouse was a busy lady
what with several plants carrying her name

June 8th

the first rose opened a couple of days ago
and i find it deliciously curious that it has appeared
in almost the exact same spot
as the last rose last autumn
