i've been growing with this garden for a few decades now. The lilacs inherited when moving here are as old as i am if not older. Their buds are now green with eagerness.
And just outside the door along the sidewalk used dozens of times each day are the crocus planted in the early years. i always forget where they are and they obviously do not mind being moved about, accidentally when rearranging Siberian iris or planting other bulbs. These tiny little golden cups are sweet, forgiving friends
i was at Greenwood last weekend and we were blessed with gorgeous weather so i spent much of the day sitting outside and wandering around looking at buds and listening to the spring-smitten geese and ducks down in the barnyard. Indoors there were cape lilies in flower a small Buddha's hand and a geranium
