If you have been reading this blog for any length of time
you will know that i suffer from RSAD (Reverse Seasonal Affective Disorder)
and must bite my tongue when
during a drought
i hear people exclaim "Isn't this a great summer we're having?"
In other words: isn't great we haven't had any rainy days
People can be so dense
so narrow in their vision
(not me, of course!)
i want to pounce on them and ask
"And just how great will it be when you go to the faucet and no water comes out?"
Friends in other parts of the US know exactly what i'm talking about
it's been a terrible, sun-baked, dry summer.
As do those in AU who have endured some dangerous droughts.
We've been very lucky this year
we've had almost average rainfall the last several months
at least in our neighborhood.
My friend who lives only 7.5 miles from here
had almost no rain for most of the summer
folks who live a few miles further on have had their
homes damaged by floods!
Weird, weird weather.
all 7 days of it
were overcast and drizzily if not rainy
you would have thought the dementors had descended
from the way most humans i encountered were moaning and groaning.
it takes longer for me to miss the sun.
The last 3 days have been sunny and more like our typical August
and the resident felines are quite satisfied with the turn of weather
Spike jumped up to the window here
as the first rays came over the tree tops
